How to prepare for 2025 study abroad trips

With the study abroad application process for the spring 2025 semester currently underway, there are many factors for students to consider when making travel plans.

Study abroad trips are offered to all majors at WVU, ranging across several countries and varying from one week to a year depending on the program.

Currently, one national and 14 international trips are being offered for Spring Break 2025, visiting countries including Germany, Ireland, Italy, Ecuador and more. All Spring Break trip offerings can be found on WVU’s Education Abroad program search index, and students must apply by Nov. 1.

WVU researchers to receive $1.6 million grant for sustainable energy research on cattle farms

Interprofessional Education Week to celebrate healthcare professionals

Interprofessional Education (IPE) Week kicks off Monday, celebrating healthcare professionals and promoting a collaborative approach to patient-centered care.

The celebration runs until Thursday and will host in-person and virtual training workshops and award ceremonies for students and faculty on WVU’s Health Sciences Campus.

Students and faculty are recognized throughout April, the National Academies of Practice’s National Interprofessional Health Care Month, holding week-long IPE activities, according to Gina Baugh, director of IPE at WVU Health Sciences.

Richwood Redevelopment project to move forward with demolition

The Richwood Redevelopment project, proposed by the Monongalia County Development Authority (MCDA) and the Morgantown Area Partnership (MAP), is set to move forward with the demolition and redevelopment of former student housing on Richwood Avenue.

The plan affects roughly 9.5 acres along Richwood Avenue, located adjacent to Willey Street and behind Arnold Hall, that will be turned into a “community area” containing restaurants and shops.

Comedian Jeff Allen to perform in Morgantown

Comedian Jeff Allen is set to take the stage at Morgantown’s Metropolitan Theatre,located at 371 High St., on Dec. 7 as a part of his “Are We There Yet?” Tour.

Allen began his comedic career in the late 70s doing small shows in comedy clubs in Chicago.

Throughout his career, he has seen several major appearances, performing on “America's Got Talent,” multiple shows on “Comedy Central” and Warner Bros. comedy film “Thou Shalt Laugh.”

In light of recent gun violence on college campuses, University Police Department Capt. Matt Swain has instructions for students if they are faced with an active shooter on WVU’s campus.

UPD’s main instruction to students is "run, hide, fight," as further detailed on its website. The strategy, which was adapted from the FBI, entails three ways for students to protect themselves and avoid active shooters as well as when to use each one and why.
